About Us

Who We Are

North Care Women’s Clinic is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian ministry. We offer God’s help, hope, and healing to people experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.

Our mission is to compassionately empower individuals to make healthy and informed decisions regarding their pregnancies, and to be a leader in promoting positive sexual values.

We are a medical clinic, operating under the license of a Medical Director; managed by a Board of Directors.  We offer pregnancy testing, ultrasound imaging, and STD/STI testing.

We serve our clients through our medical and support services. Our medical team offers pregnancy testing, ultrasound, STD testing and health assessment to give them the information that they need to make an informed decision about their pregnancy. Each client also gets a client advocate, who stands with them every step of the way and helps them to find the supports available to them.

All of our services are free and confidential and offered without regard to race, religion, or gender.  We are affiliated with the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) and CareNet.

What We Believe

We believe that God’s design for pregnancy is to intertwine a woman and a child, making it impossible for us to help one and bypass the other. Therefore, we are here to advocate for both the woman AND the child.

We promote grace for all of our clients, based on the amazing grace that we ourselves have received from Christ. We seek to follow Jesus’ example of refraining from divisive political debates, and pursuing a third Kingdom option instead. This includes extending Christ’s love and grace to REAL people, wherever they are at on their journey.

86% of women facing unplanned pregnancies will choose to have their child if just one person will support them. Through years of experience we’ve found that the best way to help both the woman and the child is to provide the acceptance and support that every woman needs when faced with an unintended pregnancy.

Our History

North Care Women’s Clinic was founded in 1984 by two couples from Biblical Seminary, the Studenroths, and the Blooms.  John and Laura Studentroth and John and Claudia Bloom both belonged to Bethany Bible Fellowship Church in Hatfield, PA.

The Studentroths and Blooms wanted to answer the challenge in the early 1980s that stated, “we say we don’t want to see women choose abortion out of desperation, but what are we doing to help women and families?”  The answer was North Care Women’s Clinic. They enlisted the help of people from area churches to support women and families who found themselves in an unplanned pregnancy.

At the time it was founded, North Care was called North Penn Crisis Pregnancy Counseling, and later changed to the Pregnancy Resource Clinic of North Penn before changing to what it is today, North Care Women’s Clinic. These changes were made to best serve our clients.

It started on Main Street in Lansdale, in a tiny basement office with two rooms. Since then, the clinic has changed locations to Richardson Ave in Lansdale, and again most recently in 2018 to N. Broad St. in Lansdale. We’ve grown from 2 couples to a staff of 14 and many more volunteers.  The mission, however, has remained the same, to help women and families in unplanned pregnancies make healthy and informed decisions regarding their pregnancies.
